rules and regulations title

CLASS 6 - BRASS SOLO

  Contestants are requested to state which instrument they will play.

Local Festival
  Contestants must be recommended from a Senior Concerto, Concerted Work or National Class, as provided for in the Provincial/Local Festival Syllabus.

Provincial Festival

  • Maximum time limit to be determined by provincial association
  • two selections consisting of :
    1. at least two consecutive movements of a Senior Concerto, or a complete Concerted Work.
    2. one own choice selection (but not another movement of the above).
National Festival

  • Maximum time limit of 60 minutes
  • two selections consisting of:
    1. Complete Concerto, Concerted Work performed at the Provincial Level
    2. Own choice selection performed at Provincial level. If this selection is from a multi movement work, additional movements or the complete work may be performed depending on time.
