The Kiwanis Music Festival has been a firm establishment within the greater St. John's area for over 50 years. For many it is the definitive venue for aspiring musicians (young and seasoned) to showcase their talents on a public stage.
This website has been launched as a showcase of that talent - past and present. We hope that you will find something useful and informative through these pages.

A Message from the President of the Kiwanis Music Festival Association of St. John's
It is my pleasure to welcome you, on behalf of the Board of Directors, to the Annual Kiwanis Music Festival here in St. John’s.
I have fond memories of the Festival as far back as the early sixties. At that time, it was held in Pitts Memorial Hall in Holloway School during the Easter week holiday. I used to collect tickets sold for ten cents each. Today, our festival has evolved into a very full 2-week event in February and utilizes many facilities throughout the city. The thing that hasn’t changed in all those years is the reliance on, and appreciation of, students, teachers, adjudicators, parents, Kiwanians and volunteers. These are the backbone of the Music Festival and we owe a debt of gratitude to them. We are also very grateful for the continuing support of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, the City of St. John’s, MUN School of Music, and our patrons and advertisers from the business community.
During the past several years, we have made a concerted effort to encourage non Kiwanian volunteers to assist with this wonderful musical endeavour. Many have accepted the challenge and have helped immeasurably by filling the roles of ushers, ticket sellers, platform marshalls, and adjudicator secretaries. To all of these people, we send our thanks and appreciation.
If you feel you would like to participate in any way, please call the office at 579-1523 or email kiwanismusicfest@nf.aibn.com
Continue to visit our website at www.kiwanismusicfestivalsj.org which includes such items as our history, past Rose Bowl winners, adjudicator’s information and our daily class schedules and results. Stay tuned next year for the launch of online registration.
Special thanks to our office staff, Mary Anne Tobin and Eileen Thistle for their dedication to achieving another successful year.
Finally, I would also like to thank the Board of Directors for their support and enthusiasm for this event.
Another year of preparation and practice has gone by and the Festival is about to display the results of all that hard work. To all the participants, we wish you all the best. Enjoy and have fun!
